Basic support isn't our thing
Can you analyse a football game like a pundit? Do you know your Marvel from your DC? Maybe you can create imaginative craft projects, know where the best recipes are or really love animals?
And patience. Do you have patience and empathy?
Supporting people means just that – supporting them to live a great life. Not doing for them, or in place of them, but with them.
You will be working in their home, so it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested.
And what matters to the people we support matters to us, whether that’s supporting their team, volunteering on a farm or learning to cook healthy meals. Their life, their way.
It's a lovely place to work. I work alongside an amazing team that is very compassionate and caring. Every day is different. My team are all very welcoming and I enjoy my time working here.
It sounds exciting to say no two days will be the same, but in support, sometimes they are. Sometimes the people we support may like routine and struggle with change, or they may be repetitive and tell you things over and over… but when you support someone to try something different – what a feeling!
We can train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We can support you to achieve a Level 2 Adult Care Worker diploma and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.
But we can’t train you in the qualities that make a difference to the people we support. That’s all you.
If you can challenge harmful assumptions and champion positive change… If you want to empower people to live the life they choose… If you share our values… We are waiting to hear from you.
