All About Me
A new course -‘All About Me’ – being offered by Score Community Opportunities Service in Hereford is proving a big hit with participants.
Nine members have been taking part in the weekly course, which will be running for 10 weeks, in which a facilitator, using laptops and digital cameras, assists those taking part to work towards producing an ‘All About Me’ personalised DVD. The training is being provided for free by Red Spark Learning, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company which runs a wide range of courses and workshops for adults in Herefordshire.
Rosemary Wooderson – Support Manager at Score Community Opportunities – said: “We’ve been delighted by how engaged everyone is with the course, the tutor is really well liked. There is always a lot of laughter and excitement in the room when ‘All About Me’ is taking place. It is also proving a marvellous way for the participants to share with staff what’s important to them. This applies particularly to people we support who do not communicate verbally. For example, everyone has taken photos of their favourite things e.g. pets, some of which we haven’t had the opportunity to see before.”
