Every person wants to make the most out of life, to seize as many opportunities as they can. Learning disability or not, every person should be able to take part in new activities that they enjoy. Here at Affinity Trust, we wholeheartedly support this notion by offering a range of projects which people with learning disabilities can actively take part in.
No two people are the same, learning disabled or otherwise, so the opportunities we offer for people to make friends, experience new things and take part in local community activities are always shaped around the individuals and the budget involved. Our opportunities services are designed to help individuals reach personal goals and try new things, from volunteering to volleyball. Currently we support theatre, sports, music and art projects as well as gardening, health and beauty activities.
This approach, which takes advantage of regional activities, opportunities and resources, has resulted in a diverse project portfolio which aims to enrich the lives and support the independence of people with learning disabilities at all levels. The people we support are involved at every step of a project’s development, where possible. They nurture the seeds of new projects and then grow them with Affinity Trust’s support.
