Meet Andy

Andy

Since Affinity Trust have taken on Andy's support things have moved on very well. As for the move it should be good for him. He has had time to get used to the staff and seems content and happy.

Ron and Mollie – Andy's parents

Before Affinity Trust began to support Andy he had lived in a hospital and then in shared living.  The lack of personnel space and limited things to do made Andy bored, frustrated and angry which sometimes resulted in him having to be restrained by several people at a time.

Andy is now happily living life to the full after Affinity Trust assisted him with a move into his own home.  He takes part in numerous activities such as playing football, swimming and attending a local disco.  He really enjoys his visits from Vinnie the Labrador who he takes on walks to the seaside and woods.  Spending more time with dogs is something Andy identified he would like.  He also enjoys going to his local pub.  Since moving, Andy has become a fan of theme parks and has visited Thorpe Park and Alton Towers where he rode the fastest rollercoaster he could find!

He is very creative and a keen guitarist.  His prized electric guitar stands proudly in his front room, alongside the many examples of his artwork made during the arts and crafts sessions that he attends.

Since moving into his house Andy is much calmer.  He no longer needs waking night support as he is quite comfortable with a single member of staff sleeping in the room next door.  Most importantly he is able to spend time with his family and he celebrated his first Christmas with them all for many years spending most of it with a huge grin on his face! He now has regular visits from his parents, sister and nephews who all live close by.
