Andrew was referred to Contact for supported employment by his care manager. He had previously worked in a garden centre, but had left as he found changes at work stressful. Andrew wanted to find a new job, but it was felt that he needed more support to ensure its long term success.

Andrew started work at Englefield Garden Centre in March 2008 initially on a 6 week trial. With the assistance of his support worker he quickly proved himself to be a skilled, motivated and well liked member of the team.  He currently works one day a week from March until October doing a variety of tasks such as cutting the lawns and helping customers with their enquiries.  Much of this work is done independently and Andrew is enthusiastic about his job.
