Affinity Trust registered by the UK Charity Commission

Affinity Trust is delighted to announce it has been registered as a charity by the UK Charity Commission.

Registration confirms Affinity Trust’s continued charitable mission and values and will enable the charity to be recognised for the work and services it provides for people with learning disabilities.

Leo Sowerby, Chief Executive, said: “Affinity Trust has always been a charitable organisation since it was formed in 1991, originally as an Industrial and Provident Society. We hope that our conversion and registration as a charity will help people understand how we operate and that we continue to be a ‘not for profit’ organisation focused on supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives. ”

Affinity Trust provides person-centred, innovative approaches to support people with learning disabilities living in the UK. Its mission is to enable people with learning disabilities to pursue active and fulfilling lives, gain increased independence and achieve equal rights as citizens. Affinity Trust began as an industrial and provident society, called TACT and was renamed in 2009.

The charity registration number is: 1139891.
