Date set for Herefordshire Fit Kit DVD launch

The Herefordshire-based Opportunities Service SCORE will officially launch its Fit Kit DVD for people with learning disabilities at an event in Hereford in March.

The DVD is currently in production in Hereford and was inspired by the overwhelming success of the Fit Kit CD - a CD and dance fitness routine created by people with learning disabilities at Affinity Trust’s Opportunities Service in Catherine Street, Hereford with the help of instructors from Halo Leisure.

The DVD will be launched on March 4th at the Royal National College for the Blind.

SCORE DJ's

Hundreds of people in Herefordshire with disabilities will receive a free copy of the Fit Kit DVD during 2011 – giving them a chance to increase their fitness levels at their own pace in the comfort of their own home . They can also choose to attend a group exercise class run each week by the Fit Kit team in a church hall in the city centre.

Rosie Wooderson, SCORE Opportunities Manager, said: “We wanted to make the most of the Fit Kit concept and take it to the next level. We had great feedback from the CD and decided to create the DVD to act as a visual prompt for those taking part, to use after they had seen it being demonstrated live.”

SCORE member Jonathan Ley said about Fit Kit: “I love it. I enjoy working hard and I’m getting my body into gear and working my brain. It’s been good teaching other people.”
