Living Book Theatre Company to perform at Wenlock Abbey

The Living Book Theatre Company, a travelling drama group made up of people with learning disabilities will perform at Wenlock Priory on Thursday 29th October.

The theatre group is run through the national support provider Affinity Trust's SCORE project, which supports people with learning disabilities in Hereford.

The theatre company, which is made up of 20 disabled actors, will perform the play "The Complete History of England (Part I)" which has been directed by SCORE staff.

Gail Ladd, Interim Manager of Affinity Trust's SCORE project, said: "It's a really fun way to look at English history, the performance is very entertaining, educational and amusing and it can be adapted for different situations. For the actors who are people with disabilities, performing at English Heritage sites such as Wenlock Priory is a great opportunity to showcase their talents."Susie Scott, English Heritage Acting Outreach Manager for the West Midlands, said: "We're delighted to have been able to support Living Book in the development of this performance. Living Book shows us how history is as much about facts as it is about drama and humour. It's historic entertainment for all the family."

The Living Book Theatre Company will be performed free for visitors at Wenlock Priory on October 29 at 1pm. Site admission: Adults £3.60, Concessions £3.10, Children £1.80. Children under five and English Heritage members admission is free.
